Hero Honda planning to launch
12 new bikes in next 18 months

Pawan Munjal, CEO, Hero Honda said it will launch 12 new bikes across entry executive premium segment, reports CNBC-TV18. It is not looking at getting into the passenger car market yet and will focus on two-wheelers and CV business, added Munjal.

“Between the expos of 2006 –08, we had 18 launches. Going forward, in the next 18 months, we have 12 new launches and are looking at all three segments. We have focus on all the three segments and more and more on the premium, the youth and on the youngsters,” said Pawan Munjal, CEO, Hero Honda Motors.

Experts from the exclusive interview with Pawan Munjal:

Quen : What's your focus going to be? Is going to be high volume low margin bikes or is it going to be the other way around as the other manufacturers are moving?
Ans : Our focus has been and will continue to be in all three segments starting with the entry segment, going into the executive segment and finally into the premium segment. You know we’ve had a number of launches in the premium segment and all these launches have done very well for us. The latest one “Hunk” is doing exceptionally well for us.

Well Akshay,

Within 2/3 months you can expect Karizma-fi from Hero Honda and 3 more bikes from Bajaj including a 250cc Ninja, and also Yamaha is claiming to launch India's fastest bike soon (beating Bajaj's presently fastest bike-pulsar 220cc)
